At Allied Awakening, we are dedicated to enhancing communication and confidence for individuals of all ages, and providing swallowing safety education and support for adults. Our mission is to provide personalised speech pathology services that empower our clients in the Maitland and Hunter Region of NSW. We also are passionate about supporting clinicians with clinical supervision in the community health and disability sectors.

What age groups and populations do you work with?

We work with individuals of all ages, from children to adults.

We work with individuals with: 

  • Developmental Delay
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Congenital Disability (e.g. Down Syndrome, Fragile X, etc).
  • Acquired Brain Injury and Stroke
  • Progressive Neurological Disease (e.g. Dementia, Huntington's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, etc). 
  • Cancer

How long are the therapy sessions?

Therapy sessions typically last 60 minutes, depending on the individual's needs.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, we offer telehealth sessions for added convenience and flexibility to all clients. 

Are you a NDIS Registered Provider?

Allied Awakening is not a NDIS registered provider, but we can accept plan-managed and self-managed participants.

Although we cannot accept agency managed NDIS referrals, we have close relationships with NDIS registered providers who accept these referrals and may be able to assist you.

Do you accept other types of funding?

Yes! We will accept Medicare, DVA and private health insurance referrals. 

We also accept private paying clients who do not intend on claiming under any funding bodies. 

Do you assist with AAC Devices?

Allied Awakening currently only supports individuals with low-tech AAC options including PECS, switches and photo books.

We do not have capacity to assist with high-tech AAC devices such as iPads, Proloquo2Go, Liberator, Tobii Dynavox, Eye Gaze, etc. Where an individual requires this support, our clinicians will refer on to more suited services for that client.
